Week 4

Well time is flying by. This is our 4th week here already.

We haven't had much of a chance to go to the beach yet or swim as it's been a bit hot or stormy. The Qld weather seems a little crazy really. One minute storms, then hot sun, then flooding rain, then give it 10mins and what do you know, sunny again. :-)

David has finally fulfilled his childhood dreams - The Man Shed. It's only a small one but ever man needs a shed.

we've also taken the new Civic (aka Henry) up to Nambour to have the babyseat checked and fitted correctly. then off to Yandina (across the road from the Ginger Factory) for some seriously delicious coffee. Buy 3 bags get the 4th FREE!!!!! yummmmmmmmy coffee. www.coffeeroastery.com.au/ You can order online too and i seriously recommend it.

Some more photo's for you all too. You might notice i don't feature too heavily in the photo's but that's because i prefer to be behind the camera. :-) Kirrily and David are on the swings in Maleny. This was taken before David went on the wizzy dizzy machine and after the Gelato. David found a machine that works with the weight of your body and if you lean in, it goes faster but your reaction to stop is to lean it, therefore David was very queezy and nearly was sick all the way back home. It was a windy road trip home for him but he made it without decorating the interior of my car.

New Gardens - Already!!!

Yes, it didn't take us long before we got itchy green thumbs. we have been in the garden, pruning, weeding and pulling out. what were they thinking with some of the plants. the tennants have also put their fresh grass clippings in the garden which has made some serious weeds. there aren't many weeds in the lawns but they thrive in the grass clippings.

We have planted some lillipilli's and some grevilliea and they look great. they got well watered in yesterday afternoon in the huge downpour of a storm. the front and back yard was flooding as it couldn't drain away in time.

I went down the road with Oliver and Isaac and they were showing me around the flooded water/pond bits. they loved it. (they are 7 & 9 year old kiddies).

Where here!

Well we've arrived, safely. It's been non stop unpacking, finding where to put things, then moving them again and again and then more unpacking. 75 huge boxes plus our own stuff so we definately filled the removalist truck. All of our belongings made it without a scratch, even the plants.

We're still getting used to the climate and the crazy storms that just appear out of nowhere, scare the @#$% out of you and then pour rain and then disappear.

Down at the Lutheran school just 2 mins walk way from our house, there were kangaroos. We've been through the rainforest walks around our Estate (they don't call it Kawana Forest for nothing). It's absolutely beautiful, especially after those storms, the smell of the rainforest is amazing.

We are also officially Queenslanders as we are on the electoral role and the little Civic has it's new Qld plates on. KLP 77 pink sunshine coast one's. haven't got a photo of those yet.

Here are some photo's of our house and other bits and pieces. Kirrily features pretty heavily in most of my photo's and i've just realised there is no new photo's of the house so i'll have to get onto that tomorrow. The pool kirrily is swimming in is Kings Beach ocean pool opened last December. it's awesome. The Beach is Currimundi Beach. this is the closest beach to us and only 5mins drive (and we tested the walk - 40mins).
