Our weekend outing to Noosa and Mooloolaba

The weather on the weekend was absolutely perfect. 30 deg and not a cloud to be seen so we headed to Noosa Heads. We had our entertainment book vouchers with us and didn't want to waste our Norgenvaaz Ice-Cream voucher so our mission was set - we must eat ice-cream.

We parked, wandered around, wandered some more (you don't think we could afford to buy anything in Hastings Street do you? :-) ) and then had some lunch. after that we had to cool down with our ice-cream. I managed to eat at least a 1/4 of it. Most went to a hungry little 2 yr old "don't forget me mummy. i want some more yummy ice-cream".

Not sure how much you've seen on the news or heard but the oil slick has managed to leave Noosa untouched (lucky) but the cyclone had already done plenty of damage. Noosa Main Beach is now about 5m long by about 1 m wide. The Noosa Festival of Surfing was on and everyone was squeezing in whereever they could. The rest of the beach is out to sea somewhere as the waves were relentless. Big Bob (the mayor) is hopefully going to get some beach back soon.

It was a perfect day for all.

Then, we headed home but with the weather being soooo nice, we just couldn't bear to come back. We stopped at Mooloolaba Spit and wandered some more. Right out the end, the footpath has been washed onto the beach as have most of the trees. It's a darn shame to see so much destruction out there. Thanks again to Cyclone Hamish.

Pooped, hungry and sticky (a soft drink exploded on me when i opened it so i looked like i'd wet myself) we headed home.

What a perfect weekend. Here's cheers for some more like that.
