The Swings

The promise of a ride on the swings after a sleep is always very exciting for Kirrily. Hayley just goes with the flow but Kirrily had to try the new swings near Bells Creek, Diamond Head. There is a huge slippery dip there but no toddler swing. "i'm all grown up now i'm 3 anyway mummy so i can use the big kids swings" was what kirrily had to say.

So she did. Hayley was clapping away and squeeling in delight and kirrily joined in. If i was one of the neighbours i would have wondering what was happening there was so much noise but hey, they were having a great time and it always sounds less noisy when your outside as opposed to locked in the house.

Here are some snaps. (ps. kirrily also dresses herself and i didn't think this was too bad really. She did want to wear her winter pj's last night though).

Swimming Lessons

Well we've had a dilemma with kirrily and her lessons. She was going OK for a few months but the last 3 lessons she's been screaming, crying and wanting to do a wee (which is just a ploy to get out the pool). Davina ended up shoving her under the water, tears and more tears and then she really hated the lessons.

Other parents spoke to the head swimming coach who was rather unimpressed and has since given her another warning (she's now had 3 apparently) and kirrily is now booked into some free (yeah 6 of them) swimming lessons by herself with Froggie. Now Froggie is lovely (aka Angela) and kirrily likes her too. We have some of those free lessons next week.

But having said that, on monday this week, kirrily was fantastic as swimming. she did things i've never seen her do before and was a happy camper. Maybe it was the bribery of home made ice-cream on our return home that made her happy too.

On the way to swimming lessons (we park about 1klm away and walk along the River)

In the Frog Pool before lessons

Banana Smoothie With a Twist

  • Take all your banana peels (yes peels) and chop the hard top and bottom off.
  • Put all the peels into a blender (i used the stick mixer) and put in some water (you decide, there's no set measurement here).
  • Blend to a pulp.
  • Add to any plants (except Natives) and watch them grow.

This was in one of Lisa's Women's Weekly giant cookbooks and it sounds like a great idea so i've given it a go today. I'll report back if i see it working.

Facebook

Alright so i've had a few spare minutes and I've signed up to Facebook. Not really sure what i'm doing or if i'll even do anything with the lack of spare time but if your interested, i'm sure you'll find me there somewhere.

12 Week Challenge Dinner

Last night was the 12 week challenge dinner in Brisbane for all Qld clubs. I hitched a ride with Jaana down to the apartments where most of the girls were staying. When we arrived, the rest of the people we were going with were totally drunk.

After I put on my new dress, my new shoes and my new handbag and felt rather snazzy. We headed off to Southbank (the convention centre) and got lost, stuck in one way streets and traffic jams. Who would have thought that Brisbane had peak hour traffic on Saturday night at 6.30pm? The roads were gridlocked, we then took another wrong turn which then headed us into more traffic snarls. After 1 1/2 hrs of driving, we found the convention centre carpark and arrived a little late but didn't miss much.

The dinner was a little bit '12 week challenge' for most people, meaning it was more sample size than dinner size but the dessert made up for that. We had coffee caramel something with caramel popcorn and it was so sickly sweet.

I didn't win but hey, i've lost 10.1kg and still going so i think i've won more than anyone realises.

Although, the night ended on a sour and sad note. Jayne, my beloved trainer, has resigned from the Goodlife gym. To say I'm shattered is an understatement as she's become a friend more than a trainer. Her last day is 18th December so i'm sure i'll be even more sad then. :-( Not sure who to choose as my trainer now. I can have Holly or Mel. Mel runs you around like a crazy lady and most people end up sick after her sessions (no thanks) or Holly has her little clicky group of people which were the one's that ended up totally drunk at the dinner. Dilemma. I just hope that i can pick the right one to keep me on my weight loss journey.

Photo's you ask of last night? I haven't downloadede them yet and Jaana and Jules haven't emailed them through. It's only 2.30pm so i'm not sure any of them will be up yet.

SURPRISE!!!!!!

It's been a busy 2 weeks since the last posting. We surprised many unsuspecting people in Newcastle on our recent visit. I just love surprising people. :-) Although, the 'man upstairs' forgot that we headed to Newcastle to cool down from the hot humid days we have here in Queensland. Unfortunatley the 45 deg days were WAY too hot for me and i'm sure everyone else that lived through the heat. I was thanking my lucky stars that Lisa had ducted air-con or we would all have fried.

As a result of all the weird weather, i was so cooked that i forgot to take many, if any photos so there isn't much to show for our first holiday in umpteen years. Luckily Tracey took a family photo so that almost doubled the amount of pic's for our trip.

Honeysuckle Shops for a yummy coffee
Kirrily also slept in Caitlin's room while we were away on the 'camping bed'. It was a blow up mattress only this one was fantastic. David and I had the same one in our room and we didn't wake up hours later to find we had no air in the bed and we were sleeping on the floor. The mattress stayed inflated the whole time.
Both the girls loved the camping bed and also running around being a little crazy together. This is our final goodbye photo with Kirrily and Caitlin.

So next time someone tries to organise a sneaky lunch, just watch out, it might be us coming to visit!!!!!!

First Ever Birthday Party for Hayley

The weatherman was telling me it was going to be an aweful day for the party. It was supposed to rain all day. The weatherman could not have been more wrong. It was a little bit windy but there wasn't a rainy cloud in site (it's been a bit like that since May).

I was running around like a mad woman for most of the morning putting final touches on the cakes, the food and whatever else i'd forgotten to organise the day before. At 9am, i raced over to the park to be on table minding duty. There is only 1 big table at Woodlands Park so i wasn't going to miss out. After 5 minutes i was totally bored out of my mind so started to set up.

By 10am most people had arrived, the food was being gobbled, and most of all, the swings for the kids were getting a major workout. The flying fox is always a huge hit for all the kids but it was so hot, the kids decided to build sandcastles underneath the steps instead.
Hayley and Kirrily have met some lovely new friends at the gym creche, and they all adore Lotti. She is a little 4 year old girl and Aaron is her little 3 yr old brother. Lotti's family have moved here from the UK recently and were over the moon to come to a party and let their kids run free. Lotti has lots of dolls called Hayley and Kirrily now. She's renamed all her dolls actually. This is Lotti at the party with Hayley looking rather pleased with the telephone that she gave her.

After many more sugar filled drinks, a bit more chocolate and of course more sugar (not me of course) I bought out the cakes. For kirrily's party i made a bunch of flowers with muffins and it was so much easier to hand out cakes rather than chopping a cake. For Hayley, i made party clown cupcakes. They have ice-cream cone hats with a party skewer sticking out the top. The top of the cone was also dipped in white chocolate and then rolled in sprinkles And they all had pink faces. I did have to try one of these as i'd worked pretty hard and if i can't enjoy 1 little cake on Hayley's birthday then i would have gone mad. (although this photo makes them look a little creepy).

A fun day, a lot of organising but i loved every minute and i hope Hayley did too. Although in years to come she probably wont remember a single bit of it until i show her these photos.

I did also make these goodies for her birthday. They are Tic Toc Teacups and Teddy Bear Racing Cars. I thought they were rather cute.

The Big First Birthday Celebrations

Saturday the 7th November was little Hayley's 1st birthday.

I woke up and went to Moffat Beach for a hard training session so didn't get to give the birthday girl a kiss before i left. We decided that it would be too much hard work to get her big birthday party ready for the saturday but had mum and dad, and Megan and Peter up to help us blow out the candle.

Hayley loved her presents but being a typical 1 yr old, she really loved the paper, the boxes and the sticky tape that the presents came with.

It was a great day, lots of yummy food and of course a very special cake. This cake wasn't the usual over the top numbers that i love doing. it was actually picked out by Kirrily out of the ABC Kids cake book. Kirrily had found this book at the Caloundra Library and suggested (or should i say told) me to make the Amy Teddy cake. For those not up on their ABC kids cartoons, Amy is one of the bears from Banana's in PJ's. I also wasn't going to make the whole teddy as i was on healthy eating and Hayley isn't going to demolish all that cake herself. David on the other hand might but i wasn't going to let him. :-)

12 Week Challenge - All Finished!!!!!

Today, Saturday, 14th November. It's weigh in day. i've done all i can to loose weight and tone up. I've even cut my hair, my toenails and finger nails (every gram does help).

I was booked in for 8.30am but got their early as i was pretty nervous. I had a goal in mind and I was hoping to achieve it.

I jumped on the scales and YIPPPPPPPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!

I've lost 10.1kg in 12 weeks which i was so excited about. I jumped off the scales and did a stupid girlie dance. Leo Sayer was also singing about 'feeling like dancing' so it felt appropriate but probably looked pretty silly.

So anyway, i'm happy with the results and here's to loosing a few more between now and Christmas.

11 November 2009

The final count down

Tomorrow is my b'day but celebrating and eating lots of yummy things, going out for dinner and maybe the odd bite of cake or two is probably going to have to wait.

The final countdown has started and this Saturday is 'FINAL WEIGH IN' day. Therefore, i'm hoping for a tofu cake or even a head of lettuce with a candle will be fine. We are all off to lunch at Alfie's Moo Char & Bar for lunch on Saturday so 2 days late is OK with me.

Jayne has been working me super hard again this week but i've hurt my right knee really bad so have had a little trouble doing some exercises.

Today we did a card game. Hearts was push-up's, Clubs was burpee's, diamonds was mountain climbers and spades were squat presses and the Jokers card was just plain ridiculous. It was a 500m row (which made my knee hurt big time) so we swapped to a 1klm bike ride as fast as i could go. I didn't give up but i felt like i didn't have much left to give at the end. With 12 cards remaining in the deck, i nearly lost focus but finished with 16 burpee's straight up. i was more than happy to see the bottom of the deck of cards.

I"ll report back once the weigh in has taken place. I hope.

Busy October

Last month was extremely busy with gym, mountains to climb, and everything else that kirirly and hayley got up to.

We also went to the opening of a new set of swings and park in Pelican Waters. Saturday afternoon after my mountain climb earlier in the morning. 4pm was the official ceremony. Hot 91FM were there plus all the other Henzell's officials. The park was being named in honor of JR Ford hence the name JR Ford Park. There was free sausage sizzles, chips, drinks, frozen sweet ice things and my favourite, the free coffee van lady. mmmm what a delicious cup of coffee it was too. Kirrily had 2 frozen ice things (i think they were called snowy cones) with loads of sweet syrup, a small bag of chips and a popper. What more could a little 3 year old want. There was something else - swings, and loads of new ones.

We spent a few hours there before heading back with a very very tired little girl.

We've also been building a new garden (and drain) across the back fence of the yard. I dug the lillipilli's out, that were here when we bought the house, and it's been left go since then. We've finally started digging it out, building the drain and putting up a barrier to stop the neighbours water pouring into our yard. It's almost complete. We have bought several fruit trees to put in including a mango and nectarine. yum!!!!!! You have got to love living in Qld when you can plant those. Kirrily wasn't going to miss any of the action so got in with the spade to help Pop dig.

And of course, we've been swimming. After a huge flogging at the gym, i'm usually glowing bright red and can't cool down quick enough. What better way than a swim in mum and dad's pool. Kirrily didn't want to go to the gym creche, she just wanted to go swimming and practice what Miss Davina had taught her at swimming lessons. Sure enough the pool did cool me down. It felt freezing as i was sooooooo hot. It was 23 deg but i was just being a woos. What a great way to fix those tired, aching, over used.....(i could go on) muscles.
November isn't going to be any less busy. With loads of birthday's and then not long after that, the preparation for Christmas, it will be New Year before we know it.

Mt Ngungun

Today was 'climb Mt Ngungung' day. I didn't sleep much last night as i was excited but when i did sleep i had those terrible dreams where you are waking up hours after you should have been somewhere. it was 8am in my dream and we needed to meet at the gym at 6am. eeek. (bit like those dreams where you go to school nude or wear your pj's) Anyway, i woke up at 5am (sun's up at 4.45am so it was bright daylight) and set off to get ready and head up the mountain. We met at the gym at 6am so arrived at the Mountain by about 6.30am. The climb is fairly easy at the start with steep hills and steps then you turn the corner after about 5mins to see a really steep section with rocks, rubble and clay.

Half way up this section was the most awesome cave (photo's to come soon) and overhang so we had to do the group photo there which then wasted another 10mins. The rest of the climb is steep and more rocks and rubble and tree roots so we were dusty, dirty and sweaty when we reached the top. Once you get to the top there isn't much flat ground, just more rocks and rubble to stand on.

By the time we mucked about taking more photo's and just watch the world pass by, we decided that it was time to tackle going down the hill. (for more photos).

If your wondering why i'm in pink and the rest are in black well that's 'team holly'. I climbed with her team today as Jayne couldn't make it.

The mountain is graded Difficult - Level 4 (which is a higher grade than Mt Coolum) but you don't realise when you've got a view like that.

If you are ever coming up here, it's well worth the climb.

Wk 10 of the 'Challenge'

Last weekend on saturday, Jayne had me booked in for Kayaking. the weather was spectacular with no clouds (does Qld have clouds?), no wind and a beautiful 25 deg (yes it's hot by 7am already).

so we carried the kayaks down to Bell's Creek (it's just near Golden Beach only a bit further south along the Pumistone Passage). Unfortunately for us, it was low tide but i didn't really care as i just love being out on the water.

We paddled and paddled and occassionally had a free ride when i jumped into Jayne's wake on the boat (i did get busted doing that), watched the fish jump, see the mountains and generally watched the world pass by. Exercise? Was this exercise? What a great 2 hrs of exercise. Although feeling disappointed after getting out of the water that we couldn't paddle all day, on Sunday morning i realised that it was definately exercise and i was glad i didn't paddle all day. my shoulders were sore and my neck too and who knows what i did to my wrist.

anyway, back in business this week, injuries and sore muscles are gone and tonight we have fitness testing again.

Wk 8 - Weigh in and Measurements

last night was our weigh and measure night. i had sweaty hands, nervous wee's (as you do). The thought of the scales was starting to FREAK ME OUT!!!!

But, 8 weeks in and almost now 7kg down, i probably shouldn't have stressed as much. the blood sweat and definately lots of tears is paying off. All thanks to Jayne and lots of hard hard work.

:-)

Week 8 of the 12 Week Challenge

Tomorrow night is the 3rd weight in. It should be Saturday morning but there is an open day at the gym so we have to do it tomorrow night. I"m getting a little nervous as i haven't worked as hard this week as i've had another dreaded cold.

This saturday is an all in group session at the gym so no beach training session for me this saturday but after speaking with Jayne after my P/T session this morning here is what's install for me over the next few saturdays remaining in the challenge:

1. Moffat Beach, beach session. There is a rather steep hill at Moffat Beach called "Queen of the Colonies" and we are going to have the pleasure of running up that as well as some beach work with a spare car tyre.

2. Kayaking - a lovely leasurly paddling through Pumistone Passage proving that exercise isn't all about sweaty smelly training. It's supposed to be hard yakka but with my dragonboating, love for kayaking and a spectacular backdrop it can't be that bad can it? :-)

3. Climb Mt Ngungun - Mount who? you are asking. well here's some details that david just sent me. This mountain makes Mt Coolum look like a baby blimp and a walk in the park compared to the challenge of Mt Ngungun. And the good news is, yes there has been several snake sightings recently with all this hot and dusty weather. oh yeah.

Details of the Mountain (part of the Glasshouse Mountains):
Mount Ngungun (253m above sea level) - 2.2km return (Allow 2 hours)

Class 4 Mount Ngungun is about 3km from Glass House Mountains township via Coonowrin and Fullertons Roads. This summit provides spectacular views of all four major mountain peaks. The track starts at the carpark and is relatively short but steep in places and may be unstable in some sections. Family groups should be careful, as the track passes close to the cliff line. Adults should supervise children at all times. This track can become very slippery when wet.

Class 4 track (Australian Standards)
Distinct track usually with steep exposed inclines or many steps.
Caution needed on loose gravel surfaces and exposed natural lookouts.
Moderate level of fitness and ankle-supporting footwear required.
Named by Cook during his epic voyage along Australia's east coast, the Glass House Mountains are rhyolitic volcanic plugs left by volcanic activity millions of years ago. This area has special significance for the Gubbi Gubbi Aboriginal people.
Remnants of the open eucalypt woodland and mountain heath vegetation, which once covered the coastal plains, provide a home for an interesting variety of wildlife including 26 rare and threatened plants.

This steep 700 metre trail goes straight up the 253 metre high mountain, through open eucalypt forest past the cave to an informal lookout over the Glass House Mountains township and surroundings.

The walk continues up the bare rock face then takes you along a narrow path to the summit, where you are rewarded by the fabulous views. From here, you can see all the other surrounding mountains and the green patchwork of farmlands below.

ABOUT THE WALK
Distance: 1.4 kilometres
Duration: 1-2 hours
Category: Short Walk
Difficulty: Hard
Type: Return
Start Point: From the car park off the access road.

Walk Highlights
Volcanic peaks
Mountain heath vegetation
Open eucalypt woodland
Coastal views

Walk Hints
The track is up the southern side of the mountain so it is sheltered most of the way.
Take plenty of drinking water and wear a hat and sunscreen.
This trail is rough and uneven and should only be attempted by fit walkers. Be careful after rain and never walk when it is raining, as the track gets quite slippery.
Take care near the summit and always wear insect repellent in summer.
Take your camera to capture the stunning view from the top!

Best Time To Go (by now i'm thinking there isn't a good time to go)
Do this walk early in the morning and enjoy the wildflowers in spring.

How to get There
The Glass House Mountains are west of the old highway between Beerburrum and Beerwah. Access to Mount Ngungun and Mount Beerwah is from the Glass House Mountains township via Coonowrin and Fullertons Road. Mount Ngungun is 2 kilometres from the Glass House Mountains railway station.

So here's to my next challenge of climbing another beautiful part of this coast.

Dusty Week

Here are some before and after shots of this weeks storm. My black car (well i think it is black) has a lovely orange haze all over it. I'm so glad i blackened those tyres last week. the dust has stuck twice as much now.

6 Teeth already

I was feeding Hayley today at lunchtime and found yet another tooth. That now makes 6 little razor sharp teeth. She had some serious drama's with the top front teeth and bonjella was her friend but the last 2 have come in quick succession and not too much trouble at all.

Horley Challenge - Week 4

So far i've climbed Mt Coolum and done way too many sessions at the gym and the beach, but it's all been worth it. i've lost 4kg in 4 weeks so on track so far.

Saturday was our weigh in day. Who would have thought that scales would be my biggest fear (apart from spiders). i got there early and was first in for the weigh and pinch test and measurements. i jumped on and ....... 4kg down. yeah!!!! then off to the next bit for the pinch test. Holly had to re-do some bits as she couldn't believe her eyes. in total, 20% fat gone in 4 weeks. now i'm impressed with myself. measurements were pretty good too.

Today, it's into week 5 of the challenge. my program has changed from stupidly hard to ridiculously hard. We are onto the 'free weights' program after doing the lactic acid program. sounds like torture doesn't it. There were too many sweaty males watching themselves in the mirror y'day afternoon so i just made up my own program for the day but i was back in business today. it's pretty hard but i thought the first program was too but i mastered that in the end.

I even got the courage to put on the swimmers. being 29 deg outside and 21 deg in the water, i thought it was time Hayley put those little toes and chubby legs into some Sunny Coast water. She loved it. She splashed and kicked and of course, her new habbit, squealed with great delight. after 3 hrs we ventured up to the park and kicked back for a coffee, milkshake and a popper. Got to love the lazy Sunday afternoon. ( i have photo's to post but haven't downloaded yet).

Monthly Update

This month Kirrily has gone back to swimming lessons. Lucky for me, she is now 3 which means i no longer have to get into the chlorine and 34 deg pool. Kirrily isn't quite so happy about that. Davina is her teacher again. She is slowly getting used to the water again and the teacher. She does give Davina the evil eye most of the time.

Pelican's Nest - Pirate Day

Pelican's Nest had another theme day last week. This time it was pirate day. There were plenty of Captain Featherswords (from the Wiggles if your not up on your pirates), and way too many plastic knives, guns and swords for my liking. We just used the stripy shirt kirrily usually wears plus a bandana and eye patch. Rob the pirate turned up for a play and sing with the kids and they ate pirate food (whatever that might be).

12 Week Challenge - Week 3

Well so far I have been flogged by my Personal Trainer. She has updated my gym program from 'hard' to 'impossible'. We are also doing Saturday 'beach' sessions. 7am start at a beach somewhere around Caloundra. The first week was Shelley Beach. We ran here, up there, squats and more squats, jumps and lunges until i was completely wrecked.

I did however, turn up for Week 2. This time we went to Ballinger Beach. (it's between Dicky Beach and Currimundi Lake). The weather was horrible. It was still a warm 23 deg (well it was when i left) but the clouds came rolling in and started to pour down rain. Which didn't really matter as it kept me cool and i was running through the creek and up the sand hills anyway so i was well and truely wet and then dirty too. We did more running, climbing up the dunes, and boxing too this time. I was more than wrecked this time.

But....then comes week 3 'beach session'. Well this week isn't quite on the beach. It does look out near a beach. It's steep, very steep and very hard. I'm climbing Mt Coolum. We are car pooling from 6.30am this saturday at the gym for a race to the top. There are other trainers and their slaves, sorry participants, going too so about 15-20 of us.

Here's some stats from the Discover Maroochy website:

'208 metre high ancient volcanic dome' One of the best ways to appreciate the beach vistas of Maroochy is to climb Mt Coolum - a 208 metre high ancient volcanic dome. The reward at the summit is a truly magnificent, 360-degree vision of the Sunshine Coast, including a view of its sandy coastline that extends from Moreton Island in the south to Double Island Point (the gateway to Fraser Island) in the north. Nestled around the base of the mountain is the home of the Australian PGA Golf Championship, weaving its way through groves of Melaleuca bushland with kangaroos and wallabies just another part of the round.

They make it sound pleasant really but i'm a tad scared. I"ll report back for sure after the event.

28 August 2009

22nd August - 12 Week Challenge

The Horley 12 week challenge officially started on 22nd August. I was convinced by my Personal Trainer to sign up and 'enjoy' the ride. It's basically a hard slog for 12 weeks to maximise your weight loss. Tomorrow is my first saturday beach session with my trainer at Shelly Beach near King Beach. I"m a little scared now as everyone else has chickened out so it's a 1 on 1 session with Jayne. She's awesome but makes me work pretty darn hard. Last night was the first of our 7pm night sessions. sometimes they show slides about nutrition etc. and then we go to woolworths to read food labels, and they even throw in surprise training sessions.

http://www.12weekchallenge.net.au/Home/

But i've stuffed my back on Thursday before the boxing class so that's not the greatest start to the challenge. Here's hoping i survive Saturday.

Nambour Nightmare

Well not long after our wonderful Anniversary Friday, we had horrible Sunday. Hayley being sick for hours and hours, ambulance rides to Caloundra, transfering to Nambour in the night and then the worst nurse i've ever come across EVER. She was rude to everyone so it wasn't something i did.

We were enjoying our local strawberry feast at Bulcock Beach on Sunday when the fun quickly turned to horror. I've never seen hayley or kirrily sick like this and i never want to see it again. although, if you look at the photo taken just moments after her first up and under, you would never have guessed what was going to play out for the next 36 hrs in the hospital.

Anyway, that was a learning experience that i'll never want to repeat. Although hayley did get the star treatment to Caloundra Hospital. Allira Richardson was our 'student' ambulance lady. If you don't know who i'm talking about (like lots of other people who went who?), she's is or was an iron lady/lifesaver from up here on the sunny coast. We almost named little Hayley Emma as Hayley Allira. Must have known one day she would save us.

21st August - our 5th Wedding Anniversary

The 21st of August seemed to come around very quickly this year. We organised for Nan and Pop to baby sit the monkey's while we went out for lunch. David took me to the vineyard near Montville. To say it's tiny and not quite the Hunter Valley is an understatement but who cares. YOu can't get a view of Mooloolaba, Mt Coolum and Caloundra from Cessnock. :-)

We wined and dined for a few hours and enjoyed the fantastic views too.

Even the local magpie came up on the balcony for a look around.

The Beach Visit

"Mum, can you take me to the beach tomorrow".

Kirrily has been asking me for weeks, over and over and over again to take her to the beach. So we went to Big W and splurged on the most expensive bucket and spade (well the lot cost about $4 so not a huge splurge). She picked the blue bucket and the light blue spade and carried it everywhere through the shops. When we got home the "mmaaaaaaaaaaaaaaam, can you take me to the beach tomorrow" kept going and going again.

We crumbled yesterday. The weather was only 23 but with a little cloud cover we put on her "Santa's" pink beach shoes and took the bucket and spade to Happy Valley.

She shells were fantastic and even lots of little bits of coral were along the beach. We were collecting for about an hour, the bucket was filling fast before we finally dragged her away. Kirrily had a fantastic time and Hayley didn't miss out either. She was in the sling on the front of david laughing and squeeling in delight and excitement watching kirrily. Or was she just trying to tell me i'm mad for going in the water up to my knees. I would have gone further but i didn't take my swimmers. The water temp is a cool 20deg which isn't too bad for winter.

Here she is:

Back and Blogging again

Well it's been a long time between blogs but spare time is a luxury lately.

Kirrily's birthday cake turned out better than i'd expected. And even if the icing wasn't 100% perfect, do you think Kirrily knew or even worried. No way.

Here are some photo's of what we have been getting up to recently.

Cupcake Teahouse - Buderim

The cupcake of choice was one covered in bright pink icing. Who would have guessed. Pretty similar to the colour of her shirt.
Hayley's first ride going fowards in her new car seat
Hayley is pretty pleased with herself in her new surrounds and loves facing forwards in the car. when you turn around there is always a cheeky grin waiting.

One of 'those' photo's.
I've been told that this beanie (thanks to Panadol) will be one of those moments you will just have to bring up at her 21st birthday. It's a dragon and keeps her lovely and warm. What you can't see is the dragons tail at the back of the beanie.

Hayley's first ride on the 'swings'
We arrived at Picinic Point and kirrily loves these swings so was happy for hayley to share some sea-saw time with her. (that's Pop's arms holding hayley on).

You will see that in the photo's we've had to get out the jumpers or long sleeves. who would have thought. Once it gets below 20 degress we all become cold frogs (or whimps).
